Technologies

TECHNOLOGIES

Riddled Foot Pocket
The perforations prevent stagnating water flow from slowing you down. Eliminating this “parachute effect” you’ll slide faster through the water. Furthermore the openings eliminate any suction effect, making doffing easier.
OPB – Optimized Pivoting Blade
Allows the blade to maintain an optimal angle throughout the kicking cycle, whereas traditional fins achieve this only during a small portion of the cycle. OPB produces a constant thrust, which minimizes fatigue and produces fluid movement through the water.
Channel Thrust
Soft longitudinal inserts allow a controlled deformation of the fin blade while kicking. This channel shape moves a greater amount of water resulting in more thrust for the same effort.
Tri-Material Construction
3 specific materials for maximum elasticity, high durability and resistance to aging. The result is superior performance in all diving conditions.

1 review for Mares X-Stream Fins

  1. Dallas Staheli

There are some really good fins on the market today, but once I tried Mares they have been my go-to fins. I was quite impressed with the overall feel of the X-Streams. Lots of power without requiring a lot of effort, excellent maneuverability for scissor kicks, frog kicks, helicopter turns and back kicking, and extremely lightweight (they’ll actually float on the water)! The quick-release buckles are nice but you can also swap them out for some bungee straps that will make donning and doffing easier. The cutouts in the foot pockets prevent parachute drag while swimming and eliminate suction when removing the fin. Because let’s be honest; it’s only fun when watching others hop around trying to take off their fins, not being the one who is watched! Pro tip: When you try them on, wear them for at least a few minutes to make sure the foot pocket isn’t going to be too tight with your boots!
