In many of the courses Dive Addicts offers, “Basic SCUBA Equipment” is listed as required equipment. Below we explain what this “Basic SCUBA Equipment” consists of to fulfill those requirements by the training agency.
The students must have the following equipment:
- Mask, fins and snorkel
- Buoyancy compensator device (BCD) with a low-pressure power inflator
- Regulator with submersible pressure gauge
- Alternate air source
- Weight system
- Personal dive computer (PDC) unless otherwise noted
- Exposure suit adequate for the training conditions
- Compressed gas cylinder
- Compass; during navigation skills
- Rescue signal
Note: Students wearing air integrated hose-less computers are not required to carry a submersible pressure gauge.
Many courses will require the above “Basic SCUBA Equipment” and certain noted additional items. For example, some courses require a cutting device (we recommend carrying it on every dive).
