Cocos Island 2027
Cocos Island Liveaboard Adventure
One of the Best Dive Sites on Earth
Cocos Island is a diver’s dream—wild, remote, and bursting with marine life. This uninhabited, jungle-covered island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and only accessible by liveaboard, preserving its status as one of the most pristine and thrilling dive destinations on the planet. Expect thrilling currents, dramatic topography, volcanic seamounts, and high-energy dive sites that serve up nonstop pelagic action.
Cocos Island isn’t just one of the best dive sites in the world—it’s an underwater adrenaline rush, start to finish. Hidden 300 miles off the Costa Rican coast and only reachable by liveaboard, this lush volcanic island is surrounded by deep blue wilderness teeming with apex predators and massive marine life. Here, hammerheads don’t show up one or two at a time—they roll in by the hundreds. Manta rays sweep overhead like underwater aircraft, while tiger sharks and Galápagos sharks cruise past with calm intensity. Sightings of whale sharks, white tips, marble rays, dense clouds of jacks, creolefish, and the occasional pod of dolphins are just the norm. You might even catch a surprise visit from false killer whales or sailfish creating a marine spectacle that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable. During late October and early November, the warm waters (around 80°F) and nutrient-rich upwellings create a magnet for big pelagics and dense marine life activity.
This is advanced diving—strong currents, surge, and deep profiles are common. Divers should be experienced and comfortable in dynamic conditions. All dives are conducted from tenders with highly trained divemasters leading every group.
